Text messages

Written to be read rather than to be survivable in court, on the reasoning that a document nobody understood is the one that fails in court.

Who texts you, and who we text

Texts and WhatsApp messages come from On Record, from +1 833 633 9718. Contact us at support@onrecord.tech, or by post at 120 19th St N Ste 201, PMB 972419, Birmingham, AL 35203-3219.

We text only customers who link a phone to their own On Record account, and only about that account. We never text a number somebody else gave us, and we never buy or import numbers. These are not marketing messages, and agreeing to them is not a condition of buying anything.

How you opt in

Signed in, go to Setup, then Integrations, then Your phone. Enter your number, choose SMS or WhatsApp, and press “Send me a code”. Directly under the button you read:

By sending a code you agree that On Record may message this number, by text or WhatsApp as you choose above, about your own account: drafts, questions and reminders. Frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop and HELP for help.

The number is linked only when you type back the code we send, which proves the phone is yours:

123456 is your On Record code. It works for 10 minutes. If you did not ask for it, ignore this.

Calls

From a linked phone you can also call +1 833 633 9718 for a catch-up interview by voice. What you say is transcribed so it can be used like any interview answer.

What we send

Drafts of your posts to approve, the questions of an interview you started, your week’s schedule, and replies to what you text us. Frequency varies with how much you use it. Message and data rates may apply.

Stopping, and help

Reply STOP at any time; STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT work too. The number is unlinked, nothing more is sent to it, and you get this once:

Done. This number is unlinked from On Record and nothing more will be sent to it. Link it again under Setup → Integrations → Your phone if you change your mind.

Reply HELP and you get:

I'm your On Record strategist. Text me:
• "keep …" or a voice note — I file it for your next posts
• "write a post about …" — I draft it and you reply YES to approve
• "what's going out this week?" — your calendar
• "pause" / "resume" — the weekly posts
• "any pitches waiting?" — pitches to journalists, approve by number
Anything else, ask. Nothing goes out without your YES.
